The MediaPlex Campus is home to the St. Clair College Journalism, Media Convergence and Public Relations programs. This is where I work as support staff with the title of “Technologist B”.
I am a broadcast technologist supporting our radio, television and print productions. I troubleshoot, fix and make sure that our live cable TV broadcasts go to air daily, Monday through Friday at 1:00 p.m. for a 5 minute show, MediaPlex Live @ 1, in the Fall semester and increased to a 10 minute show in the Winter semester.
We are also live for a half-hour news magazine show, MediaPlex News Now, at 5 p.m. Tuesday evenings. Our radio broadcast, MediaPlex Friday Live is streamed on Facebook and YouTube from 10:30 a.m. through 11:00 a.m. Friday mornings and the audio is quickly packaged and sent over to the University of Windsor’s radio studio where the program airs at noon on CJAM 99.1 FM.

As the Technologist, I am also responsible for acquisition of new equipment including but not limited to the following for radio and TV; studio and control room equipment, Sony broadcast cameras as well as BMD Pocket Cinema cameras, lenses, tripods, microphones, audio field recorders, lighting, drones and gimbals.
